54 evaluation question 2
How effective is the combination of your main product and
your ancillary tasks?
- In our final products, we have taken into consideration common themes that expand across the board of music video and ancillary task. After people reviewing our music video, we took time to ask these individuals on what was most memorable within the video, many said that the most eye-catching aspect of the video and ancillary task is the red love heart. This is not only eye-catching but helps with Wes' image in which his audiences associates him with but also links with the topic of his song which Wes sings about. The topic of his songs associates with unity and racism around the world, the love heart acts as a symbol that every individual is appreciated for who they are regardless of culture or race. Due to this we applied audience theory and took into encounter psychographics as peoples attitudes towards Wes' lyrics and the symbol will encourage them to want change and support Wes' meanings of his music. Therefore, due to having such relevance to all aspects of our products, we chose to use the symbol in our digital as well. furthermore, our presentation of Wes' is for him to perform his solo in the studio but with a black and white effect as this is associated with the black and white close up shots of wes' face within our music video. Likewise, within our feedback individuals have said that due to this effect, aspects of Wes' appearance such as his glasses stands out and becomes bold in both the music video and the digipak. Continuing on, throughout the music video the camera shots lack a heavy amount of editing to again highlight Wes' social interactions in everyday life. overall, we are quite pleased with our final product due to our overall goal being to try and make the music video as realistic and focused on Wes as an artist, which we feel we did obtain. however, if I was to reconstruct the music video and ancillary task, we would consider using more diversity within the characters to emphasise the theme and background of his music.
